Posters and Pals

I feel like school has already started...tonight the lack of sleep and working diligently these last 3 days to get my room ready has caught up with me.  I'm exhausted.  And yet I'm still awake.  Of course.  But before I head off to dreamland, I wanted to share...

I was supposed to be making labels for my girls to help me sticker books tomorrow.  However, it's a little challenging to do that without the actual labels.  Oops!  Hmm...now I have to find a different job for them.  Anyway, since I couldn't make labels, I put together some workstation posters that you can find here.  There are two sets of posters.  One I use to post around my room. By adding coordinating numbers to my posters with a dry erase marker makes it easier for students to find their materials in the correct bin.  The second set are I Can posters.  These are placed at each workstation as well.  Students use this to reference if they finish the work early or are unsure of what to do.

At the poetry station, each student has a poetry binder.  For that I Can poster, I laminate it to their cover page and insert it into the front of student's binders.  This is especially helpful for times when students may be working in binders but not necessarily during workstation time.  I like that they can sound out and read all of the words and then problem solve what to do.  Independence!!  Hooray!

In other news, my great friend and coworker, has now become a fellow blogger, also!  Our teaching paths seem to have always crossed long before we even knew of each other.  So it makes sense that now that we are coworkers and friends we venture off together on the same blogging path.  She is SUPREME and her talents for designing and creating are unmatched!  Check out Amy's new blog!  She will not disappoint!

As for me...it's off to dreamland...until bright and early!
